* Approx Seven-to-One Student-Teacher Ratio* Average Class size: 20-30 students each* Evening ClassesAccreditationSan Francisco Law School has been accredited continuously since 1937 by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California. Graduates of the Law School are eligible to practice law in the State of California upon passage of the California Bar Examination.
San Francisco Law School is a non-profit institution, founded in 1909, and dedicated solely to the purpose of providing law students a thorough alternative to the full time study of law. Both the regular four-year program, and the extended four-and-a-half year program are designed for students who wish to attend law school while maintaining daytime job or family responsibilities. Students completing the program are awarded the degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.). For over eighty-nine years, San Francisco Law School's objective has been to develop in each student the skills and practical abilities necessary for a successful career in the legal profession. The faculty comprises a distinguished group of Bay Area judges and attorneys who practice in the subjects they teach, and who are -- above all -- dedicated to excellence in their profession. As the oldest evening law school in the western United States, San Francisco Law School was one of the first in California to actively seek out and enroll women and minority students. Today the School's ongoing commitment to diversity is still unmistakable. The student body is made up of mature men and women, representing many different professions and with equally different aspirations. This diversity of experience, opinion, and background lends a dynamic element to the academic community and enhances the interactive nature of the program.
